CORN

Poaceae Zea mays averta / rugosa

Availability:  July - September

Storage:  Sweet corn is best eaten within 3 days of harvest.  The sugar in the corn converts to starch as the days pass, so eat your ears fresh!  Store popcorn in airtight containers in a cool, dark place (not the refrigerator).
